I'm telling you, that doesn't work. The cleaver is MUCH easier!

Maybe we have 2 totally different ways to go,I may be more comfortable with pipe, more used to it,I use it according to mermaid's pattern and its range,so I handle with ease the fight with it

But it's still easier with the cleaver. All the evidence shows it, regardless of preference.

On all the testings I did,I get touched more with cleaver than pipe for being too close when she turns back, meanwhile for pipe.it takes longer but I don\t get hurt ;D

But a lot more people have found the cleaver to work better and faster.

I fought her with the pipe today.
(mainly because I sorta skipped going down and getting the fish and cleaver.) ^-^'
But anyway, I could hit her three times with the pipe before it wouldn't effect her. It took me about a good eight minutes to beat her.

@_@ The cleaver is the only weapon truly worth using in that battle.

I don't see why the cleaver is better other than it does better damage.
What do you mean when you see she's clumsy with it? It has the best range at this point in the game, and range is everything due to the crappy game play.
I agree that with Gizmo that the pipe worked better. I was able to beat the mermaid without being hit with careful timing. The cleaver would be easier if it had that range, but also got hit more when using it.
So, it's either get hit more, heal more and do more damage, or do less damage and not get hit or heal.

She's clumsy with it-decreased accuracy and slow recovery time after swinging. The cleaver allows for fast, powerful strikes that almost always hit their mark.

I beat that boss twice with the pipe, I'm hoping to start another go-around on rule of rose soon and next time start experimenting with the effectiveness of different weapons, I never really thought much about alot of them, it's all trial and error, for alot of imp fights I, personally, found the ice pick the most effective, but in all truth, I haven't experimented nearly enough with the different options available.
That mermaid will give you nightmares lol.

Short-range weapons are the way to go.
