Come on, people! We'll never get a whole section for this if no one even posts in the thread!

I have every silent hill! I play them all the time. I got into it when I was in the eighth grade and loved it ever since.

Fun series except perhaps #4. Own the first three, #2 being my very favorite one.

I own all four, plus I have the rom for Play Novel. SH3 was my favorite. SH1/2 tie second, with SH4 being third. I'm a bit wary about SH:0rigins, considering it's being made by another company, with very little help from Team Silent.
I'm hoping Team Silent is busy working on SH5, but it appears they got side-tracked with a SH arcade game. Again, wary about that one. If it has a passable story and was ported as a light-gun game, i'd probably buy it just because I love light-gun games.

I've seen the gun thing on Chris' Survival Horror Quest. I don't think it has a story-it's an arcade game.
I've played the Play Novel, but most of the translations I've found have problems.>_<

I found out through the SH gamefaqs boards, myself. As for it not having a story due to it being an arcade game...I don't find that always to be true. The Time Crisis series had story scenes inbetween their shooting segments. Mosy arcade shooters at the very least have dialogue every once in awhile. We'll just have to wait and see when it comes out.
I've found a few translations for Play Novel myself. Every once in awhile I get the crazy idea to somehow magically learn japanese so I translate it myself. Then I realize how difficult a language it is. If only it were in french! Then i'd have a chance. I took three years of it in school. I'm extremely rusty, but it would be easier than the reality.

I worship 2 for Pyramid Head alone. LONG LIVE PYRAMID HEAD.
Lol but yeah, 1 and 2 were definitely my favorites. 3 was so-so, and 4...frustrated the hell out of me.

Pyramid Head was awesome in his movie appearance.
3 seemed the most realistic, to me.

I really didn't like the movie. They rewrote important characters and plots. They didn't even replace it with something of equal quality. The story was crap. The visuals were breath-taking, the music was fine considering they were from the games, and the monster design was creepy, as it should be. But the plot...ugh...I still haven't bought the dvd because of it. I'm sure I will eventually, but it was such a disapointment. I live in fear of all the game-to-movie adaptions in the future. What boggles my mind is why they can't make movies like the games. It is possibly to take someone's work and adapt it to another medium. Look at Sin City. Yes, it's a graphic novel, and not a video game, but it's a prime example of an adaption done right. You can grab the first Sin City book and follow along with the movie. Only a few minor changes were made and the movie turned out great and true to the original work. Ok, done ranting now.

I love the silent Hill games. My second favorite survival horror series, right after fatal frame. I love things that are incredibly thought provoking and Silent Hill manages to do that in almost every game. I'd like to consider myself a vast pool of useless Silent Hill knowledge because I think I get almost everything in the game, or at least know several possible theories on it.
