Hm...I've basically died so many (really only 3) times trying to defeat the "mermaid", but she just won't die. Should I use the meat cleaver instead of my equipped steel pipe?

I used the meat cleaver. My advice is to land a couple of hits at a time and to watch her movements because her "puke attack" is a pain.

The Unmarried Mermaid gives me hell no matter how many times I re-play the game D: The least number of tries it's taken me to beat her is like..two or three. *lame* ;w;

I've never died on the mermaid or the fish imps. I've restarted twice because it took me too many health items the first two times because I got greedy with the wacking and Jen tumbles over and gets hit or I actually bothered to try and keep Brown alive.

I just told Brown to stay in one corner of the room since he was of no help to me. So I got him out of the way of the battle.

Well, I'm in the Rag Princess blahblah chapter....is it too late to get a map somewhere? And also, I've seen another post about this, but I don't feel my specific problem was addressed. How can I find/obtain food for Brownie? Someone mentioned telling him to search without anything equipped, but he doesn't bark specifically at any one thing. So I look around blindly, finding nothing.

Answer to map question: There should only be one map and you get it in the second chapter of the game. Just press the SELECT button on your controller. Answer to Food question: What I did, was had Brown look for food with whatever item I had that gets you some kind of food. OR, work wit me on this one, look in different rooms to see if any kind of food has appeared. Its helped me a few times on that chapter when I was limping around and finally came across a room that had a biscuit on the floor. Hope this helps.

One annoying thing to remember (though if you made it this far you already know) you can't pick up an item until Brown finds it, even if you know EXACTLY where it is.

Yeah...has this ever happened to you? I get Brown to find something, and he leads me to it (I'm assuming) and starts barking, but nothing comes up? He was barking for a good thirty seconds before I figured there was REALLY nothing there. It doesn't happen often or anything, but I was just wondering.
