Well, who's played it? I know I have. Amie and I have finished it...what...five times? Six? One of those. Anyway.
I love the game. Not as much as Rule of Rose...but it's a really close second. The storyline is so interesting as soon as the game starts, and it doesn't slow down until the game is over.
The heroine in the game is actually cool (Sorry guys, Jennifer and I don't get along.), and the dog in it is adorable. I mean, isn't the name Hewie just adorable in itself? But enough of the fangirling, real conversation.
I don't want to compare Rule of Rose to Haunting Ground AT ALL, because they are completely different games. There couldn't be anything more opposite. Haunting Ground is more action oriented, with all of the chasing and the option to have Hewie attack and so one, while Rule of Rose is more explore and get yourself creeped out. I still haven't finished it yet, so shhh. I'll probably claw out my own eyes if I see spoilers. XD
So, what were your thoughts on the game? Did you like the storyline? Any of the characters strike you the first time you played? Did you find the game hard, or easy? Was it something you'd play through again to get the different endings? What could you have improved? Etc, etc. XD

I've had it for over a year. Still haven't played it. There's other games that I have that have been sitting waiting for longer. Think it's worth a bump up to play, like maybe in a couple months?

Now, I might just be incredibly biased, but I'd say play it as soon as you can. After Rule of Rose, it's one of my favorite games. The storyline isn't as complex, I'll give you that...but it's quite fun to play, especially your first way through, because you're not used to the system and the enemies. It's enjoyable! It's also one of those games that makes you jump and flinch.
It's also not as demented as Rule of Rose, but believe me...some of the things in that game will make you double-take, and probably gag. I can't say enough good things about it. XD
If you have any more questions, ask them. About anything. I know a lot about the game. c:

There's just too many games (like over 20) and absolutely no (literally NO) time to play any of them. I WAS going to play RoR a 2nd time during the break but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. RoR is short enough, and a 2nd time's gonna be even shorter. Yet time is still not there

Ahhh, time. You do need time for Haunting Ground, I'll give you that. That might be one of the bad things about the game...if you have no idea where you're going, you'll get lost and get frustrated. Like I did with Rule of Rose...but that's okay. XD
If you get the time, I recommend it. Whole-heartedly.
God, I do not find Rule of Rose short. I'm stuck on The Funeral, and can't get past all those battles. -sigh-

I plowed through RoR in like 9 hours of gameplay (would've been MUCH quicker if that damned mermaid was quicker and Brown would've stopped finding marbles all the way on the other side of the airship). RoR was a quick snub to my schedule because the Thanksgiving break was light, and I needed something that would be done before the break was over. So RoR bumped itself WAY up my list.

Off-topic, holla. Oh wellll! XD
We're around nine hours now...and since I can't get past all of those battles...yeah, I lost my patience. Which takes a lot, and yeah...I can't figure out how to do it. I should go post something in the other forum. XD

I love Haunting Ground!! Daniella = <3 She's my favorite character, as soon as I saw her in a magazine preview. XD
The storyline is pretty good, can't say much about that. I loved Daniella's story.
The game was HARD the first time I played it. Keep in mind, my first chasing game before this one was Clock Tower 3. Compared to that, the villians in Haunting Ground would NOT stop chasing me! @__@ I almost disliked the game because of that. But I eventually found out what hiding places would work at what times. So it's all good. XD
And I played again and again to get the different endings. It's worth it just to hear that ending song and see the credits roll by. XD That's got to be my favorite part of the game. XD It's so peaceful~
And what to improve . . As I mentioned above, the villians to stop being all up on you . . Most people would say to make Hewie listen to you better, but I actually like that aspect the first time I played. It was like a real dog. XD I loved my first game's dog to death~ <3 But after that . . Sometimes he was annoying. A lot. ^_^;

Yeah, I've gotta say. I love Daniella. She is quite possibly my favorite character in the game. She and Fiona are pretty close to being a few of my all-time favorite game characters. They were so in-depth...I loved it. I loved how the characters were explained...for the most part. Or, Fiona was. Kinda.
Clock Tower 3 made me cry often...I was SO awful at it. I made it to the last boss, and couldn't finish it. So I never rented the game again and yeahh...I'm still at the last boss to this day. Haven't touched it, and I doubt I will. I was SO FRUSTRATED. XD
I have the Haunting Ground Soundtrack, so I can listen to Precious Hewie and the remix all the time. Which I do. Because it's absolutely stunning...along with all the other remixes. I could upload them for you, if you like. Or the whole soundtrack, if you want the whole thing. XD The endings were great...I just need one more to have the complete set~
Haha. The enemies were relentless...especially on hard mode...that was so hard. We finished that recently, and I'm pretty sure Riccardo ran us through a good twenty times. And when HEWIE DIES. I LOST MY MIND. I BAWLED. Yeah, my first Hewie was like...so great. He did everything I asked...we even got top Dog Breeder ranking. And then we had to deal with a Hewie that didn't listen at all. And let us die so many times. It was annoying. :/

Oh god. When I first played Clock Tower 3...it scared me like you would not believe. I dunno, I guess I get really freaked out when I have that feeling that I'm being chased or something >w> even if it's in a videogame, but anywhoo. I never got around to beating CT3, because the last boss was taking forever..and I got impatient/close to dying DX Grr. As for Haunting Ground...I'm still at the very beginning, but I liked Daniella from the start; so I'm looking forward to giving the game another go. Assuming I can actually leave Rule of Rose of for like an hour. It's been so long, I can't even remember exactly where I'm at in Haunting Ground DDD:

I believe there are two of them. I already have the whole HG soundtrack. But thanks anyway. ^_^ And I agree. It is AMAZING. The best soundtrack for a game EVER. And the remix for Precious Hewie is the greatest remix I've ever heard. And I hated if Hewie got hurt. Even if one of the enemies attacked him, I was like "GET OVER HERE!!" and use up all my items and kick them until they collapsed. =D; I hated when Hewie got shot. T_T And to get the bad ending . . when I had to abuse him . . That was the worst. T__T I was like "*kick* Sorry . . *kick* . . SORRY . . *kick* *cries eyes out*" And I actually cheered for him when he hit me back. XD "*BAM* I deserved that . ." But the comments Hewie gives on the Hard Mode when you abuse him are pretty funny. XD He calls Fiona a b*tch, I think. 0_0 I was like, "Wow, go Hewie". XD Well, anyway, I babble too much. XD

The first boss' "Alyssssaaa" was creepy, but I really didn't like the game at all. It was annoying in the 2nd level cuz I was constantly stuck in the bathroom cuz whenever I come out the bad guy heard me and I just said screw it and ran. The boss fights were stupid too. And it just felt stupid to hide in the same place 20 times and the baddies had no clue at all.
