I kind of thought they were fictional/made up for the game.
I want one lol.

The Gift for that month was a butterfly, most likely.

Nope.

Maybe it was a decision by the gamemakers to make the butterfly easier to see in the dark confines of the airship. I looked online and the only European butterflies that I could find wouldn't have been easily seen in the airship as they are browns and darker colors...

Maybe it glows as symbolism. To Jennifer, it was not just some insect, but the coveted Gift of the Month.

You know, if you think about it, the gifts of the month tend to be colorful in contrast to the stark backgrounds of the game. The red bird, blue butterfly, even Peter the Rabbit was a bright white.

I don't know about Peter-he was a rabbit, and rabbits are generally white. The bird and the butterfly definately had a glow to them, which supports my idea of Jennifer's opinion of them being symbolised. The bird was Eleanor's coveted Bird of Happiness.

As for what I meant with Peter, there aren't many places on the airship that I recall something that stark white. I was wondering if his brilliant whiteness was a way to make sure that the players would be able to see him against the gray and browns of the backgrounds. I suppose they could have made him another color that rabbits can be like tan or brown, but I wonder if the white was chosen to make him easier to see...

Most likely, that and it stands out especially in her own mind, amidst the backdrop of other, less relevant memories.

I found Peter to be as ordinary and white as everything else. Lots of things in the game were white, but it wasn't a major color.

Humn, if Peter wasn't white, it would be harder to chase him =p
SPOILER
But I think he is white because, well, it was indeed white as most rabbits (I've seen at least) and that's it xP Even because if it would represent something, it would represent Wendy's try to get her attention back.

I really wish there was a "making of" Rule of Rose extra that would explain some of these little oddities that drive people wild lol
