It was never my intention to insult or upset anyone here. The end of this game disturbed me more than you could imagine , I`m surprised other people have not had strong reactions to it. Seems to me the creators may have intentionally made parts of ROR ambiguous as to their meaning. The game is almost certainly a dream/memory of Jennfer. The relationaship of Jennifer and Wendy is problematic. The storybook princess/doll, Joshua/prince/bear combination, doll/Wendy on chair at ROR meetings , similarity in profile on bus between Jennifer and Joshua seems to me an attempt by the developers to draw parallels between Wendy and Jennifer. As it stands the story does seem to combine the characters of Wendy and Jennifer in a way that is highy unsatisfactory. Jennifer leaving Wendy at the end could be seen as leaving a (discarded) part of her personality behind. No matter what,Brown ( as is almost always the case with animals ) gets the worst of it ; Jennifer chooses to save herself at the cost of his death, becomes friendly with the children who killed him !!, and does not show remorse when she remembers what she did !!!. She is a psychopath. I do not have the heart to again view the final scene in the shed ( tho I did see it several times I did not pick up the dark overtones that others seem to have noticed ). It is,in any event, probably the saddest thing I`ve ever seen ...not only has Brown died because of her,but the pup is trying to stay with her and she leaves him . Yes I agree this seems to be a representation of her keeping him in her memories, but the effect is macabre, horrific. Remarks have been made about the look in her eyes at the end and the thud of the lock. Any other observations about the last scene in the shed having sinister implications ?? I`d really like some input as several posters have excellent insight. Another point that I have not seen covered in detail is the four leaf clover key ( maybe I just missed the appropriate posts ). The key opens a door ( in her mind ). What does she find there ? Costumes for the maid and Meg ( and like so many other items in the game useless, unnecessary weapons ). What`s this about ...some minor add on or the sign of an unhinged mind , that is Jennifer taking on the personna of two unagreeable characters in the game. Maybe the creators are making a point about Jennifer`s character... that is she may be identifying with other people she has known and that her sense of identity is severly disorientated. This can be a signpost to the possibility that Jennifer and Wendy may not be separate characters.
