I have played this game through one time, and started my second time, but I haven't yet discovered, that what is that whole airship thing? I have wandered why is Jennifer there, why from all things the airship, how did she get to the orphanage so suddenly after all the trouble in the airship? ... Is it something obivious or am I just stupid xD'
My guess is that Jennifer dreams the whole airship part, becouse her parents had died in a airship accident. And then she wakes up in a mansion and her dreams were true!
Man this game is hard to understand sometimes, but maybe that's why I love it ;3 I'm waiting for your opinions!

The point of the whole game, after much theorizing, is for Jennifer to recover the memories she sealed away long ago. Her memories are twisted together and altered based on things like her perception of certain things and events as a child-such as the spooky creatures being real, because when the story was told to her when she was younger, she thought they were.
Her memories of the airship accident and her time at the orphanage were both sealed away after their respective tragedy, and she is recovering them both at once. This is why the rooms on the airship parallel those in the orphanage, as well as why she can travel between the two almost instantly.
