You know while I was playing during the game of Rule of Rose - you did sure did see alot of interaction with Amanda and Jennifer. In my opinion I think Amanda was kinda of mentally slow and also I think she liked Jennifer only when she was considered below her. When Jennifer was giving a level up - Amanda was near jealous during the mermaid chapter. ( at least I think) I really thought Amanda was going to be a boss at the top of the Airship when she had that dummy with her and that long stick. When she is picking at Jennifer with the rat - Amanda obviously enjoys it due to her smile and laughter during the time. Then all of the sudden she is sorry for what she had done? I don't know what do you guys opinion on Amanda? I just decided to start a thread about Amanda since I didn't see one. Also who was the dummy suppose to be the one she is beating up at the top of the airship?

the rag doll was jennifer (and also, an unlockable costume). it was the gift amanda had been making for her in the beginning, before jennifer began to gain levels.
i think amanda was genuinely sorry that she had hurt/humiliated jennifer with the rat, back when jennifer was below her in rank. she was probably lonely and felt that as long as she was above jennifer in the aristocrats, there was no harm in maybe striking up an alliance. but when amanda, who honestly believed that she would be given credit for jennifer's work in locating sir peter, was instead 'de-mote-ed,' she was overcome with resentment for jennifer. this is evident in her diary, where she writes that no matter how hard she tries, no matter how many unsavoury deeds she commits at the insistence of the other girls, she still can't get a red crayon. jennifer, however, advances steadily upon her arrival. this is why she gives jennifer joshua the bear on top of the airship, with the assurance that once she turns it in, she'll be 'little miss popular again.'
in a way, amanda was one of the saddest characters in the game. she was shunned by the other children and hoffman, and, in her own mind at least, usurped by jennifer.

The Amanda in the game does have some mental problems - she slowly goes more and more insane as the story progresses, for all the reasons spooky mentioned. I think the real Amanda was probably a little more stable, though just as angry and sad with her inability to get promoted.

Amanda, in general, is just sick in the head. I noticed that many times in The Clover Field chapter. She really makes me mad. When she took my butterfly I just wanted to catch her and beat her down.

Like Prince Joshua said, I was soooooooo mad when Amanda took that Butterfly! But i do feel that she felt REALLY sorry for what she did to Jennifer, she doesnt really like hurting or humilating people, because thats what she usually goes through...

amanda's facial expressions when she was holding the butterfly were weird. forgive my immaturity, but she really did give me this impression, but everytime she would make that weird squeak/sigh/groan and her face would contort (and the way she waddled around, all bowlegged and hunchbacked), it looked like she had just had an unexpected bowel movement. and well, knowing amanda like i don't, i don't suppose thats entirely outside of the realm of possibilities.

jajajjajaja Spooky. I see. So was she upset at Jennifer? is that why she was beating up the rag doll that looked like Jennifer? Yeah - Amanda does seem like she does have some mental problems or it could be from all the way the other children act towards her. I do agree that the fact that she didn't get promoted like Jennifer - it just added more to her already enough unstable self.

Yeah, after I found that out I also felt sorry for her. But her cawling over Jennifer saying that she was sorry was really weird. But then I started hating her again in the Rag Princess Sews chapter. Also, making a doll that looks like Jennifer and beating it with a stick was kinda disturbing. 0_0

Yes I have to agree with PrinceJoshua - that was kinda weird - Amanda crawling up on Jennifer and then beating a doll that looked like her.

jennifer's submissive reaction to amanda rubbing her fist all over her snot-ridden face/climbing all over her was one of the strangest parts of the game. right up there with her quivering in front of the mirror as she smears lipstick all over her mouth and the voodoo doll. she almost certainly would have snapped completely and turned on everyone there, eventually. she and gregory could have been the red rose mafia.

I agree with all of the above theories. I actually talked about this a whole lot with my friend one day . . . I think Amanda has two sides to her.
I used to like Amanda a teeeeeeny bit back when she was on my side (after the whole, "I'm sorry Jennifer!!" cutscene ordeal) but when she turned on us again, ESPECIALLY saying that thing in the Sir Peter chapter after going through all the work to get the rabbit (something about "we" found it. She didn't do anything!!!), I could see that she desperatly wanted someone to relate to on her level. When she saw that Jennifer was upgrading past her, she would be left alone again, so she started getting angry. @_@
I don't blame her, and I feel kinda sorry for her . . . But I still don't like her. XD She's just . . . strange. XD

before i gave sir peter to the gift box, i went to bucket knight to ask for clues, he told me that i should offer the gift alone meaning without amanda. after that i headed towards the gift box but on the entrance i saw amanda kneeling down. i talked to her and she told me to hand over peter to her. i suddenly remembered what bucket knight told me to offer it alone so i thought there is another option where jennifer will refuse amanda's request and she's the only one who'll offer it but the option didn't appear. i finally realized what the bucket knight told me because even though amanda gave sir peter to the aristocrats, the princess really knew who's the one who put the effort capturing him. i already sensed amanda's goal when she asked me to hand over peter, it is to tell the aristocrats that she was actually the one who caught sir peter and at that moment, i began to despise her.....evil amanda!!!!!!

in amanda's defense, she wasn't just sitting on her keaster waiting for jennifer to hand her peter on a platter. i don't think so anyway. jennifer just happened to find him first. i think amanda wasn't necessarily expecting to recieve full credit, just partial credit, because she seemed to honestly believe that she and jennifer were a team.
now if amanda's fumbling peter to the floor and losing him had caused me to have to hunt him down a second time, then i would have been set to kill.

Good point - spooky. Amanda was searching for Sir Peter as well. It's just that Jennifer found him first.
