I think they are a pain in the butt, even moreso after dying about a billion times while trying to chase down "Joshua" and get that bear back.>_<

I think imps are the afraid of Jeniffer to confront the reality. Jennifer in the final chapter says something like that, when she see the imp's dolls in the basement. I'm agree with Stray Dog about imps with animal faces, but always related with Jennifer's fears. Well, I think that ^^u

The imps are mainly based on a story that Hoffman told the orphans in order to encourage them to remain tidy.

I always figured her statement about them coming because she was weak-hearted referred to them coming to life in her dream and being "real".

I can remember in the diary entry of Hoffman, that he feared that the Imps are attacking them:
2 March 1930 ''Recently, the children have been engaging in odd activities and spreading disturbing rumors--rumors about creatures that come after children who don't clean up and stray dogs that kidnap small tots... It's all very bizarre.''
16 August 1930 ,,...... At the time, it seemed so frightening... Were those scary things that attacked me just figments of my imagination...?''

I'm afraid your post is mixed up. That part at the end was not an entry, but Jennifer thinking to herself. The imps were thought up by Hoffman, to convince the kids to do their chores and be good. As a child, Jennifer thought they were real, which is why they become so in her "dream". The "creatures" in the diary is possibly in relation to Stray Dog, but he may not be aware of this.

I think the Rabbit Imps were to represent Wendy. Sir Peter was her rabbit.
Oh and I think the "masks" that they wear are real animal heads, because in the Rag Princess chapter (at least I think it's that chapter) When you first encounter the Pig Imp, if you look in it's mouth you can see the normal Imp's face inside.

I still don't buy that the imps are the children, unless Gregory is not the only character who got that kind of two-different-people treatment.-.-;

Oh and about the Imps talking they say other things like: "Bright red crayon just for you." "Lots and lots and lots of crayons." "Hats off to you." "Stray dog comes at night."
Um, there were more I heard (because my friend has an mp3 off all the Imps talking, but I don't remember them.)
I think a few of them were. "You are not god (or good?)." "The stray dog comes." "collecting pea's."
and I believe, "Filthy, filthy" Something something. xD

How did they acquire that mp3? If it was ripped from the disk, it could just be stuff that never actually got used in the game. There's a lot of that on there.

I think the imps are awesome They're not OVERWHELMINGLY ( I stretch that word) difficult, I've noticed to go for certain imps first, take out the ones with brooms, then focus on evading until you get a clear hit, as long as you keep moving they tend to miss you when they jump, to me it gives off a thrill trying to evade them. ( This seems to work for me, at least) They look so creepy in the cut-scenes. My dogs would love them. lol

My big lab/shepherd mix cause he can put them in his mouth and run around the backyard with them.
My little dog cause she can run around them and play chase.
They're both easily amused lol.
