What do you all think happened to Clara? Why did she leave? Were did she go? What happened to her?

Truthfully I think she killed herself. Now about five minutes ago I didn't think this but I was looking for pictures of the Mermaid Princess and found this: www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/image/930042.html?gs=85Which if you look at her wrist they're slashed as one would do if wanting to either kill them selfs, or cause harm to them selfs. So my theory is after years of abuse be it sexually, physically, or mentally from Mr. Hoffman. When he left the orphanage she found herself very much alone and unstable thus, not long after Hoffman left, she to left and killed herself.

I think she left along with Martha because she was sick of dealing with those bratty children.

I read on gamefaqs that Hoffman got her pregnant and gave her an abortion. They said that that's what the bloody tools Jennifer finds in the attic are from and why she won't let anyone look in the drawer. Don't know how true this is though...

-.-; Yes, I read that theory. It was made up by one of the trolls, in fact. It's nothing more than another attempt to make the game more disturbing and sick than it actually is. First off, there is stlll a lot of uncertainty regarding if Hoffman did anything to Clara at all, let alone something like that. There is absolutely no way he would have been able to give her an abortion himself, especially in an ill-equiped sick bay. Clara would never have made it, and it's doubtful he has any knowledge that would allow him to even be able to attempt such a thing.

-Raises hand-
Um, although I don't know as much as you about the game Princess J. Why don't you think the game could have sick or disturbing meanings/things in it?
I mean although there's no proof(sp?) that Hoffman did something to Clara, there's no proof(sp?) saying he didn't.

I'm saying that some people try to make it sicker than it is, no matter what. They'll overlook facts just to try and make the game more perverse.

And I think the "cuts" on her wrists are supposed to be gills.
You should join in the discussions about Gregory in the various sections.^^

*question*
I'm pretty sure she left with Martha. That was clearly stated during the course of the game, however what could she possibly do from there? She's an orphan too, isn't she? 0_0

She was 16. Martha probably took her in.

Or she could have found herself someone nice to love and take care of her. Remember I think this was at a time when Girls were still getting married at or at least close to her age.

But stuff like that still takes time, so she'd probably live with Martha.

(The following link contains plot spoilers) *LINK DELETED* ^ While that site is purely fan-based theories, I found this article on Clara very interesting. I think the game was designed to raise these kinds of questions, because it's a psychological thriller kind of game, you know? I personally agree with many of the things that were brought up in the article. Call me sick or whatever, but it does make sense, and yeah, while they didn't provide evidence for it, they didn't provide evidence against it, either. I think it really is all a matter of interpretation.

That theory was actually addressed: -.-; Yes, I read that theory. It was made up by one of the trolls, in fact. It's nothing more than another attempt to make the game more disturbing and sick than it actually is. First off, there is stlll a lot of uncertainty regarding if Hoffman did anything to Clara at all, let alone something like that. Clara would never have made it, and it's doubtful he has any knowledge that would allow him to even be able to attempt such a thing. That particular individual loves to makes theories that overlook everyone else's and all evidence in the game, as well as making all aspects of the game much more sick than they were originally intended. While the game is twisted, that is going way too far. For some more sensible theories that actually consider the opinions of others and evidence, check out my website: www.geocities.com/ruleoftherose/index.html
