Do you remember the boys and girls Amanda talks about in his diary ? Leo, Fanny, etc.
Who do you think they are ? I don't think they're children of the orphanage, 'cause no one talks about 'em, nor are they in Jennifer's photo.

I don't recall reading those names in Amanda's diary.

[Sunday, October 6] After all that time I spent sewing it! Basil, Fanny, George, Hector, Ida, Leo, Paul! Why must they always bother me so? Oh, woe is me!
[Sunday, October 12] Oh, why can't they all just go to hell! Basil, have a nap on the railroad tracks! Fanny, take a dive off the roof! George, I'll hang you upside down! Hector, get run over by a carriage! Ida, I have some fancy poison jam for you! Leo, walk across an open manhole. Paul, get smothered under a great rug! And lastly, that girl! The Aristocrats will have their way with her! Oh, how very delightful life is!
Here they are, Princess.

I'll have to play the game again and see if is the same in mine. It sounds as though she is talking about the other orphans. Maybe she just changed the names in case they ever found her diary?

I don't think so. In the end, she talks about the 'Aristocrats', saying that 'they will have their way with her'. In this case, they MUST be other orphans, but they are not anywhere in the game. They are not in the photo, nor are they called by Mr. Hoffman in 'The Funeral' Chapter. Besides, let me tell you another thing. In Amanda's Diary it's always sunday. Even if it can't be. For example, we see "Sunday June 1". Impossible, just because Sunday June 1 was in 1929, and not in 1930. Aaand ... 'Sunday, October 6' ... 'Sunday, October 12'. There's something wrong with this. A week doesn't last 6 days. XD

Well, she is just a child, so the weekend thing could be either her mistake of the game writers. Other than that, I would say those names belong to imaginary friends or something else that she has given names to.

Maybe I'm asking too much. X°

Well, this is Amanda we are talking about.XD Poor girl seems very unstable. She both hates and likes Jennifer.
And ask all you want-the more topics and threads the better!^^

The weekend thing... hmm... I was just wondering that since she grew up in the orphanage (more or less) she was there for like, a long time right? Maybe she just lost a sense of time! OwO" Well, either that or she's kinda gone off the deep end.
I think those names are indeed the names of other orphans - maybe the younger ones? That are a class below the Three Ladies but higher than herself? I say this because of the one line, 'Basil, have a nap on the railroad tracks!' - there was an orphan who liked trains right? (his name escapes me now...)

Those orphans were named though-Thomas, Xavier, Nicholas, Olivia, and Susan.

It doesn't make any sense. There are too many male names.
Nicholas, Xavier, Thomas ... and, why not, Hoffman. They are not enough.

My theory: Amanda may have a hobby of sewing puppets of various sizes that look like humans, and she may give them names and then abuse them for fun or to vent her frustration. Just goes to show how sadistic she can be, if her violence is channelled to the right "objects". Because of her aversion to Jennifer after that rat incident, Amanda may have associated her with the rest of her "dummies of woe". She must have hated Jennifer so much that she did not specifically put her name on the diary.

If I'm not wrong, Amanda never calls Jennifer by her name; maybe all those names were given to rag dolls representing orphans or someone else, as you said. We'll probably never know certainly who those children are, but it allows us to make wonderful theories like this.

Ooh! That sounds like a good theory. It's definitely workable. ^^
