In the very beginning of the game Jennifer is fallowing Joshua(Wendy?)
But if you choose not to fallow the call of Brown at the cross roads and got left up to the Orphanage, you can see Wendy doodling in the dirt like in the "Once upon a time. . ." Chapter.
Then if you go to the shed and leave you can see Joshua(Wendy?) running away to the Orphanage.
Why does Jennifer see Wendy playing in the dirt behind the fence? Is it like she's reflecting at what she could of had if she had stayed instead of leaving Wendy in "Once Upon a Time. . ."?

I think that it was because, before Brown came into the picture, Jennifer loved only Wendy. Before she goes to the dogshed and finds Brown's collar, in her subconscious, just like in her past, Wendy is still the lone thing that she loves. But the collar triggers her subconscious memories of her beloved dog, and she unknowingly witnesses his final moments.

I think it's cuz Jennifer loved Wendy too and she wanted to remember her, just not all the bad things she did cuz she loved her so much
