Alright so I know I'm not the only one here who has played all the games, (including Xenogears?) So we can talk about the games here without getting off topic. Who's your favorite character? what part of the game do you enjoy the most?

I'm at the end of Episode III, so I won't be visiting this topic again until after I beat it, so as to avoid spoilers. So far, though, my favorite scenes are generally ones involving Albedo. The scene(s) where he was going to sacrifice himself to save Gaignun and ended up getting reunited with Rubedo through Gaignun's sacrifice was one of my person favs. My favorite characters are Albedo, Wilhelm, Jr., and chaos.

Indeed, those characters are pretty much my favorites too. Throw in Kos-mos and you've got all of them. Wilhelm and Albedo being the top two.
-I promise not to spoil you.-

Finally beat Episode III. I was a bit disappointed. If it weren't supposed to be the last one, I wouldn't have been as unhappy with the ending. Too much was left unanswered, and some of the few things that were-such as Wilhelm's true identity-could only be learned in the materials only released in Japan or in the database after loading clear game data. And I also hated how much the database was used to reveal stuff during the game, such as the random revalation of who chaos is. I feel a bit cheated.;-;
At least Wilhelm turned out to be a pretty good guy with all the stuff he did for everyone in the end, and at least he's still alive.^^

Wow, that uh.. kinda spoiled a little for me. I hadn't finished 3 yet.. wasn't thinking Wilhelm was good or evil at all.

Well he's kind of good, but kind of evil. No matter what he does he's still a Gray shade, and horribly manipulative.

It is stated at the beginning of the topic that there would be spoilers. Though his actions weren't always for the best, he was trying to do his job and stop the universe from being destroyed. If the heroes had been trying to do that, everybody would be worshipping them, but all Wilhelm got was grief.;-; How come chaos never did anything? I was hoping when get to see him use his powers for real.

He probably would have had this turned out to be the six episode epic that it was suposed to be. Stupid people.
True, Wilhelm didn't get enough credit for trying to do the right thing. But then again I supose that some people would not want to live through the same events a second time, even though they would not remember it.

Actually, it is highly likely that the Eternal Recurrance had already started. Doesn't Zarathustra just reset everything back to the beginning? In order for that to keep happening, Wilhelm had to keep activating it each time they got to that point.
It's believed he had a bigger reason than just saving the universe. He wanted Shion and the others to win-he wanted humanity to become stronger, break free, and take control of their own destinies. He's clearly not weak, yet he does not try to stop Kevin from killing him and even assures the Elsa and the Dammerung end up in the same galaxy as Earth.

Let's find something else related to Xenosaga to talk about.
