I`ll try to include everything else I think of as important here.I was thinking that Wendy brought J back in space and time to give J a chance to save Brown, but at the end of the game Wendy still does not want J to go. So just what caused J to begin this story and why Wendy dresses as Joshua is unknown to me ? Any explanations ? My problems with the overall story and gameplay notwithstanding I do have a definite interpertation of the game`s end as it stands: When J goes to the bus stop at th game`s end she says " I can take the bus the other way, but I have things to do here ( TO SAVE BROWN ) , She could just continueon with her ( older) life , but she chooses to go back AND RELIVE HER TIME THERE AND SAVE BROWN, she will probably lose her memory of the events f the game, but she wil have found new strength to do the right thing and not go along with the aristocrat club`s games. When she goes back to the pup Brown, she is actually meeting him for the first time a second time round. The actual words used by Jennifer seem crucial here : I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE YOU EVER AGAIN. The words "ever again" seem to show that Jennifer and Brown (pup) are together again, that the little J remembers her previous life and will now relive her time atthe orphanage will keep Brown safe from Wendy`s jealousy. How else can this be seen? Other aspects of the ending sequences still puzzle me : will the children still be killed,by whom and why? Why does J limp ( as does the monster headmaster) when she confronts Wendy after Brown`s death I am also puzzled by the addition of the words " EVEN IN DEATH " after the promise Evelasting True Love, I am Yours that first appears in the mermaid section, add this to the message that reads in part, THE GIRL FOUND HER GRAVE TODAY, THE DAY OF HER FUNERAL, that appears in the "game over" title when J dies in the game and I`m lost as to the meaning of these references to J`s death. I`d like to get opinions here as I`m puzzled by a lot of importanant concerns and I`d like to know especially if others have different explanations about the ending and can explain the characters and events at the Gingerbread house. Thanks for any input. Stephen

Excuse me if I`ve asked questions already covered elsewhere

I covered the ending generally over in one of your other question threads, as well as posted about it in other threads here, as well as on my website. I just can't type it all again. As for all that Gingerbread House stuff, read through my answers in your other posts, then specifically tell me about any other questions you have here.

As for your view of the ending , I`ve rebutted this in my follow up in a prior post.

Here`s another important point in support of my view : at the bad endingthe game tells Jennifer that she has not learned anything and thus cannot save anyone. Now does it makes more sense that this means "save" a better life for Jennifer , or SAVE BROWN

It likely refers to both. Literally, Jennifer cannot save Brown. He died all those years ago. But she could save and cherish her memories of him and the lessons his death taught her, thus saving herself as well.

Given the phantasmagorical nature of the game , anything is possible, BUT explanations need to best mesh with what is in the game , tho this is a problem since the gameplay is such a mess. I considered your explanation before your post ( just as I considered the possibility that the game is a dream and rejected it due to what`s in the game...see my post at GameFaq... ) and find that it just is not supported by what`s in the game. When, at the bad ending, the game says that she now can`t save anyone, how can this really refer to memories of what happened to Brown. Yes this can be the answer, and maybe everyone else believes it to be so , maybe even the game developers would say this , BUT the problems with ROR that I`ve gone over in my posts which show that ROR is a mess , no matter what interpertation is applied, indicate that the people who put the game togther knew it was a mess and subconsciously created an ending that they thought to mean what you believe , but makes more sense with what I believe. AND THEREFORE MY VIEW IS THE CORRECT ONE Everything I`ve stated about the game is based on, and supported by, what`s in ROR I`ve been careful to point out why I believe what I do ....not just belief, but a view based on every element of the game I could find . Now just why does Jennifer limp like the "monster" headmaster when she confronts the club after Brown`s death? Obviously it is an evil transformation connected with the imps, can J be seen as evil here ( a coward , yes , evil no ) Unless this can be explained the whole game`s logicis in question. And then the matter of the 1/30 date in the OUAT segment, how can J comment on objects and events that apper later that year and why does she have good memories of the place. Needs a rational explanation . Please can anyone provide as much. I find it odd that you finf problems with my syntax when ROR is such a jumbled mess SD

I'm not even sure what you are talking about anymore. I do know that there is no reason to brush aside my views and insist yours are correct, when that is likely not the case. The game is very likely a dream as well.

I learn more about ROR as I go along, the game is a repressed memory/dream acted on by an outside force that will allow J to save Brown. Note everything J says and does at the Bus Stop and shed and try to reconcile it with a view that Brown`s memory is all that will remain. I`ve gone into some detail about this at the 9/29/07 Endings post thread at the ROR mysteries site , I`ve yet to see anything that supports the dead Brown theory and pleanty to suppport my view.

Nothing supports your views.>_>;
Sorry, but Brown is dead. Jennifer let him be killed in place of her when she was a little girl. He's not coming back. The point of the game was for her to remember and learn from her past.
