Hello Rule of the Rose community! I don’t typically like doing intro threads as...well they’re just people saying hello a lot aren’t they. But as it is the polite thing to do. (^_^) I only just got a copy of Rule Of Rose this March after wanting to play the game since before it’s ban in England. (Still totally unjustified!) And of course I loved it for its desire to actually tell a story and affect it’s players, rather then just have you fork out £24.95 for two sessions of gaming repetitiveness. I recently sent off an application to the IMDB for a RoR page complete with message boards, because if there is any video game in the world that requires lengthy discussion it is Rule of Rose. Anyway I hope to bounce a few ideas about the game around the court with you guys and gals.

I only just got a copy of Rule Of Rose this March after wanting to play the game since before it’s ban in England. (Still totally unjustified!) Yeah, tottally agreed. Obviously the one who banned it haven't even tried to play 30 seconds of the game, and I think it was more or less like: "For what I can see in the cover: Terror + childs + girls + a girl-girl affair = no no in my happy dreamy world where I allow to kill people and steal cars in GTA but can't let the people see this "awful" thing..." =p I like theses critics! lol

Thank you kommando1986, nice to get a coherent welcome.
Actually it was an inside job, right at zero hour 505 pulled the game from a UK release. I think what it came down to in the end was fear of the moral majority. A couple of government figures from across Europe made a lot of stink about how corruptible and despicable the game was, must have been election season. So 505 decided to forego the media lynching and stick to countries they thought would see the game for what it actually was. And that’s probably the biggest crime of all, giving in to the prudes before they even put up a fight.

Welcome! It's nice to see that you got hold of a copy of rule of rose. I actually bought mine the first day that it came out in the states. I was so happy when I found out the local game store had it because I put in an order for it at Sam Goody and a new copy never came in. >_> I loved this game when I played it and I still love it. Though I can't provide any really new theories.
I think it's totally unfair that it got banned in Europe, I thought the only major place where it getting banned would be an issue was here in the US.
I'm thankful I got hold of this game though, and you should be too. XD I'm the forums resident Wendy fanatic, Death Note fangirl, and graphic artist.
I was amazed to see this game going for 40 bucks at Sam Goody today for a used copy.
Anyways welcome to the forum hope you'll post lots. We're not a large community but still there's a lot of love here!

And I have to agree with Dinah! This community was much bigger in the past, but still, it's very good now =p Personally, I prefer here than other communites with a lot of... errr... strange and dirty theories.
The good thing I see here is most people see the game as the pure and classic and fascinating game it really is.

That’s why I’m trying to get an IMDB page set up for the game, it’s hard to find small fan sites like this, but there are swarms of people on the IMDB. “If you build it they will come”.
I’ll be the resident Olivia fan then, she was just as cute as a button.

Thanks admin lady. Blugh, all trolls should be shot on site and used for insulating houses in impoverished nations.
