Okay, so I've noticed in every room that was locked up, there was a good explanation in Once Upon A Time to what happened in/to the room. I've also noticed that the attic was locked up, so it might lead me to believe either it was not used or it was not too relevant in reality (maybe the girls did not use the attic for the RCA, or at least not much. I can't imagine the girls stealing that many candles and getting that much red cloth).
So, that being said, the basement is STILL open in Once Upon A Time. That means (to me) that the Cells of Bliss, Solitude, Pleasure, Repentance, and Remorse were used in the real world. So here's the rooms.
Cell of Remorse - The storage room, where you picked up the axe
Cell of Pleasure - The projector room
Cell of Bliss - It's got a coffin and imp figures and one in a bag hanging. Jennifer mentions her weak heart as why she was unable to stop the imps, even though she knew what they were.
Cell of Solitude - Wood and a lone chair. Jen mentions seeing Diana here in deep thought and how she was the prettiest and most mature aristocrat. She wanted to grow up and was afraid of it.
Cell of Repentance - Nothing is mentioned by Jen. It's got assorted junk in there. It also has what looks like a slidable window on the door and a red rose drawing.
Okay, so here's my two cents. I think the cell of repentance might have actually been the real RCA room. Remember that even though Jen remembers a room like the attic where she slapped Wendy, I don't think the kids could have stolen all those candles and gotten all that red cloth, meaning that sequence and the fact that the RCA room was in the attic might not be. So it seems just as likely that the cell of repentance is the RCA room.
So here's the real question. Other than the Cells of Solitude and Pleasure, I cannot think of why those names. Pleasure could be the pleasure of watching a film (an extreme luxury for any private home in the '30s, much less an orphanage). Solitude is pretty self-explanatory with Diana. So that leaves, Remorse, Bliss, and Repentance. Remorse, I've no clue at all. It's a storage room. Bliss is just odd. It's got a coffin and imps and a (probably) Jen hung up. Repentance has got a red rose on the door. Does anyone have any idea what got these rooms their name?
Okay, so now on to other rooms. First, the first floor lavatory, the one near the entrance that was home to both Gregors grabbing Jen and the Diana on a toilet scene in the opening movie. What are those bags in that one stall? And why does the red bird look so menacing? Is Eleanor really one of those crazy psychos that snap every now and then?
And lastly, the filth room. Now, it looks like Jen had her own room, and other than her garbage can/memory chest, the room seems very nice, better than Martha's and much better than the dorm. So here's the question, why and how did Jen get her hands on such a nice room? I do not see any other bedrooms in the entire orphanage other than Hoffman's and Martha's. That means even Clara lives in the dorms (NO, on this thread we are working under the premise that she DOESN'T sleep with Hoffman. Remember, even Hoffman wrote he took her back to her bed). So how did Jen get such a nice room? And remember, Jen remembers once being tied to the pillar in the filth room. Why tie Jen to a pillar in her own room when you could lock her up in a cell?
And lastly, the rooms that aren't in the game. There are two spaces on the 2nd story/1st floor (depending on where you are from, the floor under the attic) that should have a room but don't. The first is between the library and the sewing room, above the washroom and part of the bathroom. The 2nd is in the back right corner of the building, near the sickroom, above the closet room. These 'spaces' exist (if you want to draw out a floor plan you'll see) but there are no doors to them. What do you think is hidden here (great material for fan stories I might add)?
