Assumption can be a deadly thing, even in video games.

*nods* Even when no clear facts are present, people often make rash assumptions. I was able to study this in a story prologue I wrote recently. The main character was being chased by someone he did not know, for an unknown reason. Readers tended to automatically assume that the person doing the chasing was a murder, desptite knowing that the main character is carrying a weapon and is covered in a what could very well be blood.
People somewhat did the same thing with Gregory. They saw a newspaper article and just started to believe he must have been kidnapping and killing children.

Yeah. When you really look at all the facts, you can learn that things are not as they seemed to be.

I don't want to rock the boat, and I can certainly respect your theories PrincessJennifer, but I still kind of believe that Gregory was guilty. If you look at the time line presented in his diary, he seems to tend to his garden every seven days, which is when all the kids reportedly go missing!

But the dates don't all match up. And it's not strange to do stuff like that once a week, right?^^ He was a farmer, after all.

Good point! It just seemed suspicious to me. But you're probably right, if Gregory was supposed to be a total bad guy, there probably would have been more evidence!

I read one of the trolls saying that Wendy was involved with the kidnappings. You know I don't believe a word they say, but is there any chance it's true?

Not really, no. Joshua's death and Jennifer's arrival at the Gingerbread House both occured around the same time as the murders. It has originally been believed Wendy had been ordering Gregory to kidnap kids as part of his training, but this was disproven once people noticed the date of that chapter was "1929" as opposed to "1930", and also by my discovery of Gregory's diary. Since she started pretending to be Joshua sometime after convincing Jennifer to leave, it nearly impossible she had anything to do with the kidnappings.
