I actually was wondering what others thought about the character of Susan who in my eyes seemed very interesting in that she, like the boys and Olivia also, mingled with the Aristocrats but for the most part kept distance. I'm especially curious towards theories/ideas about her relationship to Meg. I feel it's sort of a purer version of the relationship that Meg has with Diana in that, I feel Meg is a big sister to Susan. All the scenes of them together--reading, cleaning, walking. I just imagine it's Meg reading to Susan, Meg helping Susan clean, Meg teaching Susan, and so on and so forth. In my fanficcy mind Susan gets to hear all about Meg's inventions before anyone else. And I think it's almost sad that Meg would (possibly) have this confidant side of her that is looked up on by Susan, only she doesn't notice this because she is too busy being underappreciated by Diana.
Anyhoo...just some thoughts. Plus, what the heck was up with Sooz being on that chair in the stairwell in the Bird of Happiness chapter? That seriously scared me because I thought she might fall and die.

Sorry, but who is who? I don't know any of the non-high class girls other than Clara, Jen, and Amanda. How about this, name the crying girl, the one who moves aside with the crying girl in the classroom to let Jen in right before the Stray Dog event, and the other one (sorry, but I don't remember where I saw her).
While we're at it, what are the boys' names too?
(Obviously from what I posted I don't remember a Susan following Meg)

I'm not 100% sure about this, and sadly it seems the Wikipedia page on RoR was cut down to almost nothing.
Olivia- the youngest child, blonde and tiny. Always crying...found with the dessert fork.
Susan-hangs around with Meg in the library, she has dark brown hair in braids and wears like a maroon or similarly colored school uniform.
I actually don't remember another girl....as for the boys:
Nicholas was the skinny one in the wifebeater. He plays swords with Xavier.
Xavier- The gluttonous Prince aka the little fat boy. lol. He scares me.
Thomas- He's the trains boy basically.
SPOILERS ALSO: to get a few scenes of Susan, in the Unlucky Clover Field chapter peek into the library when you cannot open the doors early on, and you see Meg reading with her. And in the Funeral chapter she is cleaning the library with Meg when you're getting all the papers thrown at you in the first half of the level.

Oh, that's right. I remember when I saw Meg and the other kid in the library I thought it was one of the boys. As for the boys, I'm pretty sure there were three others. I don't know. Maybe I'll pull out the game again and count the people in the orphanage portrait . . .
As for Meg being under appreciated, I'm not sure if she realizes it. She's Diana's Brown, loyal to a fault. No wonder Wendy goes berserk. She's the only one left without anyone (Eleanor doesn't care, and Amanda no one wants).

susan's also the one you see in the sir peter chapter who looks like shes picking her nose and tells you peter smells like poo.
i was wondering what suzie q was calling for in the bird chapter, considering the bird of happiness was already entombed in room 26.
as for her relationship with meg, i think pretty much the same as you: that susan was sort of like meg's little sister. or maybe her protege or assistant. meg considered herself some kind of evil genius, of course she would have wanted an egore. olivia was too young, amanda was too... amanda, and the boys had their own hobbies, which left none other than the impetuous princess herself.

So while Meg is preparing to be Himmler's Himmler, the Himmler's Himmler is training her own Himmler. So now we've got a Himmler's Himmler's Himmler. Bah, Hitler didn't need super soldiers, all he needed to do was kidnap some British orphans and he'd rule the world!

I agree; I feel like Susan is furthering the vicious cycle of leader/sidekick abuse going on here. And I like the comparison between Brown and Meg, since they are both loyal to the point of being self-detrimental.

Hey someone can write a fanfic about Himmler's Himmler's Himmler training her Himmler!! bucketknight, please stop tempting me. I would like to pass my classes this semester. ...Oh who am I kidding, I'm going to do it anyway. Yay I'm glad empressjess. It warms my twisted little heart to hear you say that. ;D I'm just happy to hear that someone else has a twisted little heart. To keep this kind of on topic, how do you figure Olivia and Susan got their status as bourgeoisie anyway? Amanda's older than both of them yet she's still stuck down in the lower caste.

I think the bourgeoisie is just a holding place for those who aren't up top and aren't currently being picked on. I mean, other than the RCA, none of the other kids do much with them. Amanda only listens to the RCA because she is picked on.
Plus, Susan is Meg's Himmler, so she has some protection, but she's not good enough to crack the aristocracy, so she ends up a bourgeoisie. And Olivia, I mean, how the hell can you bully the girl? She already cries about everything. Even if you are mean-spirited enough to bully her more, Hoffman would beat you down. Olivia's annoying enough without more crying. So that just leaves Amanda. Diana's not dumb enough to start a gender war with the weak alliances in the RCA.

Yeah, the boys seem to stay out of this mess pretty well (and I hadn't considered the difficulty of picking on Olivia). Could that be significant in some way? Perhaps suggesting girls play mind games about popularity with each other?
Also, I love the way Susan pronounces Wendy's name in that scene before they run outside in the rain. "Look everyone, it's Wen-dih!"

That's interesting about the boys, because a couple cut-scenes show that they were part of the Aristocrat Club (they are present at meetings), but for the most part really weren't too interested in the game.
